How to Play Baccarat.
Baccarat is a card game played between 2 players. The first is the banker. The banker is not a casino employee like a dealer. The banker is the player with the most money on the table. The second is a player.
They players may bet, but most of the betting is done by spectators. They are betting on if the player or the banker will win or if they will tie. Baccarat is not a high stakes games and really the only way to win big is to bet on the tie which pays off at 9 to 1. betting on the player of the banker pays of at 1 to 1, but if you bet the banker and win a 5% commission is collected by the casino. this commission is only removed from the banker because statistically he will win more.
The game itself is quite simple. A player needs to make a hand of 9 or close to 9. this may sound like blackjack except in baccarat there is no going over 9 it is impossible. 10s and all face cards are counted as a zero. Also if a player gets a hand that adds up to a double digit number the first digit is dropped, so if you have a 7 and a 6 which adds up to 13 your baccarat hand is a 3.
If the player or banker gets a hand of either an 8 or 9 on the deal they automatically win. Assuming this did not happen, another card may be requested to make your hand.
In the end whoever has the closest hand to 9 wins.
