The Rules of Blackjack
In Blackjack you have to add the values of your cards to obtain a winning hand of 21or as close to it as you can without going over. In the game of Blackjack when a person goes over 21 it is called a Bust. The Blackjack dealer deals 2 cards to each player the 1st card is face down and the second is face up for everyone to see. The dealer then deals himself 2 cards, both of these cards are face down and he does not show his cards to the other players until after they have finished making their hands. Then the dealer will flip both his cards over and start to make his hand.
After each Blackjack player has finished making there hands the dealer will turn his cards over to start making his hand. The dealer has a set of procedures he must follow that tells him when to take cards and when he may not take cards, if the Blackjack dealer has a hand of less then 16 he must take a card once he has a hand of over 17 he must stay.
In Blackjack the players do not play against each other like in poker. In Blackjack they are only playing against the Casino. after the dealer has finished making his Blackjack hand the winners are announced and are paid, and after new bets are placed the dealer will deal a new round.
